Words of the Year: 2009 edition

Every year there's a fluff piece about the words that need to be stricken from our vocabulary.

Here are mine for 2009, the words that need to go away, use of them should be ridiculed and shunned:

1. Stimulus - just like over 10% of the country at this time, it doesn't work
2. Summit - particularly if it's preceded by Health Care, Jobs, or worst of all . . . Beer
3. Choice (because this administration is removing the need to think about choices . . . soon we won't have any)
4. Hope - coming out of the mouth of any politician. see #3
5. Climate Change - in 2010 it needs to go back to what the psuedo-scientists had been calling it, Global Warming and then when they start talking about it we can laugh hysterically while saying, "you mean the global warming that is causing all the temperatures to be cooler?"
6. CZAR - not even Russians have them, but when they did it lead to a bloody revolution. I'm just saying.
7. Man Caused Disasters - like climate change this phrase needs to be stricken and we need to return to the word we all understand, namely "terrorism" and "acts of terror"
8. "Cash for . . . " - anything at this point. It's not really cash, per se, it is a line of credit from China. If we are going to have any more of these programs call them what they are, like "Chinese Credit for Clunkers."
9. Misquoted - in the age of the internet, YouTube, DVR, etc. it is nearly impossible to be misquoted unless it is intentional.
10. Taken Out of Context - likewise. I have all the context I need from multiple sources. Politicians need to stop practicing this most petty form of revisionist history. Everyone needs to own the words coming out of their face. And telling me that you "think what (talking bobble head in charge) meant to say was" is just another form of that phrase which needs to be retired as well.
11. Too Big To Fail - if you believe that is the case then the perfect remedy is to let it fail. What happens in that case is bankruptcy court and the continuation of the smaller functional entities

Words being ushered into the lexicon for 2010 and beyond:

1. Tea Party - as both verb and noun
2. Stagflation - I fear it will be coming back with a vengeance in 2010
3. Freedom - when used in conjuction with #4
4. Responsibility
5. Accountability
6. Socialism - don't be afraid to call a socialist or socialist policy by name
7. Chicago-Style Politics - not pizza, politics. see #6
8. Change - as in what really needs to happen in the Congressional Rolls, really

Here's a toast to 2010. May it be better than 2009

Dopenhagen

Global Warming has been exposed as the myth many suspected it to be. More than the exposure of damning emails, Climate-gate is a matter of how a community of people have been advancing an agenda based on junk science and a false theory. Climate-gate was blown wide open via the revelations of several email messages traded between the "scientists" responsible for controlling much of the data. This is the proof that Global Warming is a cult.

And yet, Obama still plans to attend the event in Copenhagen. Tens of thousands gather in this dreary little town in northern Europe where the mean temperature in July and August is 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Lear Jets and limousines transport the hypocritical high-brow masses to the event aptly described by some as a circus.

Copenhagen 'Circus' Turning Into Feel-Good Jamboree, Critics Say

In spite of the data and the revelations that impugn the practitioners, nay perpetrators of this mythology the convocation continues. Cap & Tax is still on the table inside our nation's Capitol, the EPA attempts to back door us into the Dark Ages or at least the time of Little House on the Prairie under the direction of Climate Czar Carol Browner, and the faith filled fools sit with their fish mouths agape while trying to spin Climate-gate into into yet another "vast right-wing conspiracy" or envision all of the disbelievers as nothing more than simple minded flat-earthers, which is kind of ironic considering those who continue promoting this bunk are the bunch who are refusing to submit to current scientific data.

But that all begs the question.
Why is Global Warming still being advanced as more than a rudimentary hypothesis?

The real reason is the control.

I looked carefully at the camera shot of the broad auditorium where thousands of well dressed men sat with one another in what appeared to be a stock holders meeting and not some urgent cause to save us from certain doom. Well, I am sure wingnut Algore was somewhere in their midst but even when he's emotional about this cause he's still less animated than Robbie the Robot.

These elitists see themselves as being above all nations and above all other socioeconomic classes and therefore, in their minds they believe they are above us all.
Perhaps they feel intellectually superior as well. Perhaps they simply have no more interest in all the material possessions they themselves have amassed and only lust for power over their fellow man.

The rationale for their methods and their means to attempt to achieve a truly unattainable goal is really just a smokescreen to gain a greater measure of control, to lord-it over all the masses that live beneath them.

At the core of the Global Warming conspiracy (and it can accurately be called a conspiracy with the release of emails between these multiple "scientists"); at the conspiracy's core is a cynical group of people who want to control the size, location and wealth of the entire population of our planet with no real regard for whether or not the temperature is 4 or 4/1000th of a degree higher in the next 100 years when all of us currently debating this pseudoscience will be dead and dust. If they could make low-fat frozen yogurt or Rock-n-Roll music the bogeyman with any greater effect than that's what they would use instead.

Global Warming is a cult and like most cults the leaders don't really believe what they profess and the followers have relinquished their sense of reason and their right to inquiry, instead choosing to follow blindly often at their own peril.

One Republican is going to be the rare voice of reason amidst the crazies conducting "scientific fascism" and yet his voice will likely get lost in the European din.

Fight on Jim. Let them know this shall not pass in the U.S. because even if it does we will repeal the laws made by the current Congress, a temporary body by design.

You see, true Americans question motives, are skeptical about anyone claiming to be their moral or intellectual superior and ultimately lead rather than follow.

The Permanent List - Part II

Again it was a Saturday and again liberal Democrats were working to push through a vote. Perhaps they hoped no one would be watching on a Saturday night but someone is always watching and the Congressional Record takes names and hides nothing.

The cloture vote may be lost on many as a procedural activity in the Senate that is beyond our understanding but there are some very simple facts about Saturday night:

- The 2,000 plus page Senate bill clearly included language supporting tax payer funded abortions.

- Mike Johanns (R-NE) made a simple plea to the Democrats and Independents before the vote. He called on just one Democrat to break ranks and prevent that from happening.

- Not one of 60 supposed "enlightened" human beings could find it in their hearts or minds to say "nay" on Saturday night to save innocent lives. Yes - SAVE lives. Not like "saving" jobs. The moment the first abortion takes place under a government run Health Care system there will be nothing but pure accountability over that life that was not saved. That blood will be on all their heads.

Not a single Democrat or Independent Senator stepped forward to say "nay" during the vote. The party line won over the rights of the unborn. In this group there were many self proclaimed "Pro-Life" Senators but clearly talk is cheap.

Let me reiterate. This was merely a matter of saying a single word to save lives. This was not a matter of offering their own life to save many others. This wasn't even a matter of changing the laws allowing women to have abortions, only who pays for them, now namely all taxpayers under this new bill. At most this may have meant they lost some pro-abortionist votes in an upcoming election and the bill would have even survived, only having to be rewritten to strike the abortion language from it before proceeding to another vote.

A single word would equal tens of thousands, perhaps millions of lives. Not one could say "no". Not one.

Cowards all. They would rather kowtow to the party then show a sliver of moral courage, show true conviction of their beliefs; act and not just speak.

Not a single one of them can say they stood in the way of abortion in the final bill. Their time to do so was this past Saturday. Mike Johanns knew this. He knows the other procedures in the Senate like the one that would require no less than 60 votes to remove abortion provisions from the Senate bill now that they are included. If not one could say "no" now can we really expect 20 to step forward and stand with the Republicans later.

We need leaders and they are followers in a pack of cowards.

It is time to get rid of them all.

The Permanent List

The New York Times printed a story Sunday morning with a list of the Democrats that opposed the Health Care Rationing & Taxation bill. They did not list the names of congressman who voted for the bill. I had to search much harder for a complete list of those names and now I have my own list that wasn’t even made available in the Congressional Record on Sunday morning. They voted in the people’s house and therefore they can not hide. They can spin this, they can go home to their constituents and try to explain but they can never erase this from their voting record.

These are the names that should and will live in infamy. These are the congressional representatives who voted opposite what many of their voters, as the polls would suggest, the majority of their voters wanted. This is not Democracy. This is not the government promised to us in the Constitution.

If this becomes law, their bill will knowingly put many of you out of work and even intends to put some of you in jail if you don’t buy health insurance. They are the ones who need to be unemployed and some of them even belong in jail.

They have voted to place a tax burden on our backs, the backs of our children and an evil legacy that our grandchildren and their children will have to bear their entire lives. And all the while it will do nothing to improve health care for anyone. In the words of Joe Wilson, the entire bill is a LIE!

These congressmen and women all must be stripped of their power and that day can not come soon enough.

The grass roots movement to take back our country be eliminating the power elite who are deaf to their constituents has already started here:
